Next Monday, India is immersed in an ocean of brilliant lights and joy, celebrating one of its important traditional festivals – Diwali. This festival, symbolizing "the victory of light over darkness and good over evil," carries profound cultural heritage and embodies the Indian people's prayers for a happy life.

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, traces its origins back to the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana. Legend has it that Lord Rama returned to his kingdom Ayodhya on this day after defeating the demon king Ravana and completing 14 years of exile. The citizens of Ayodhya lit countless oil lamps to illuminate his path home. This tradition has been continued, forming the basis of Diwali. For Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains, this festival holds special religious significance.

In India, the status of Diwali is comparable to the Chinese Spring Festival. It is not only a time for religious devotion but also a family celebration for reunions and welcoming the new. During the festival, people clean their homes, decorate them with lights, adorn their doorsteps with colorful "Rangoli" patterns, and light traditional clay oil lamps called "Diyas," symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and ignorance with light.

The celebrations are diverse and vibrant. Families perform prayers to Goddess Lakshmi, praying for wealth and prosperity. At night, the sky is adorned with dazzling lights and spectacular firework displays. Dressed in their finest clothes, people visit friends and relatives, exchange sweets and gifts, and share lavish festive meals. The strong festive atmosphere conveys warmth and blessings.

On this auspicious occasion, we extend our sincerest wishes to all those celebrating Diwali! May you and your families be bathed in the warm glow of light, and may your lives be filled with joy, peace, and prosperity. Happy Diwali!
